With all that has happened over the past few years we have had to constantly pivot, learn, adapt and find solutions for new problems that we never knew existed before the Covid-19 pandemic. At OpticalRooms we immediately wrote an article offering clear guidelines on how to keep your glasses clean to avoid infection of the eyes.

We also suggested the use of Optase Product eye spray which was originally manufactured for dry and irritated eyes and eyelids. It found a whole new marketplace due to the fact it is a triple action disinfectant for eyes.

The latest Covid-19 related product/information that we are bringing to you are Hoya Clear-it Anti-Fog lens wipes. This product was initially created for the humid Far East region. However, due to the wearing of face masks it is now arriving on our shores to solve the problem of glasses fogging up with the face masks!

Anti-Fog Lens Wipes

So, how does it work?

Before you use these wipes/cloths, we recommend that you wash your lenses thoroughly and carefully to prevent the possibility of scratches. Rub both sides of the lens with the cloth for 5 to 10 times. If done carefully and correctly, the lens will stay fog free for about 72 hours in a humidity of around 60%.

The cloths measure 13cm x 13cm and should last for approximately 60 uses – this varies depending on the size of the lenses. A point worth noting is that the cloth is non-washable and you should avoid getting it wet.
