17 Apr Hylo-Dual Eye Drops Review – Protect Yourself from Allergies
The following hylo-dual eye drops review was provided to use by a long term customer, Niamh, who had some problems with her allergies and sore, dry eyes.
Hylo-Dual Eye Drops Review – The No.1 Eye Lubricant
Recently I have been spending more time on my computer than usual which has led me to discover and use hylo-dual eye drops on a daily basis. I don’t know about you but I have been wearing my glasses with blue control lenses but I still found that my eyes had an itchy and burning sensation. I thought that I was suffering from Dry Eye Syndrome (DES) but there was also the possibility that I was suffering with some type of allergy (not just allergic to working on my computer!). As both can present with similar symptoms, it can be difficult to differentiate between a dry eye or an allergic eye. So, I did what most people do, I ignored the problem hoping that it would magically disappear…which, of course, it did not.
Hylo-Dual Drops to The Rescue
Which led to step 2 and hylo-dual eye drops to the rescue. I called in to the friendly and helpful people at OpticalRooms and begged them to make it all better – FAST!
Having spent time asking me questions and examining my eyes, they explained that I was suffering (they got that right – SUFFERING!) from hay fever. Not having presented any symptoms previously I was quite surprised by the diagnosis.
Hay fever (or Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis) is an allergic reaction to pollen and spores, the microscopic grains that trees, grasses, plants or fungi use for fertilization. Hay Fever mostly affects the nose, blocking it up or making it runny but can also affect the eyes causing an itchy, scratchy, burning feeling,
Importance of Tear Film for your Eyes
Apparently, as the OpticalRooms team kindly explained to me, with hayfever symptoms the natural tear film breaks up more quickly. For eyes to stay healthy, the surface of the eye needs to be continuously lubricated by a tear film – every time we blink the tear film protects and lubricates your eyes and washes away foreign bodies that might cause harm or obscure your vision- with hay fever, the pollen attaches to the surface of the eye and the tear film is unable to wash it away. So, it seems, blinking and tears are kind of important!
So, why did my eyes have a burning sensation? When the tear film is disturbed or the tear glands no longer produce enough essential liquid, the tear film may break up too quickly (tearing the tear film – and, as I can personally confirm, it really does feel like something is tearing the front of the eye) and dry spots may develop on the eye surface. The result: burning and itchy eyes or a “gritty” sensation that feels as if you have and or glass in your eyes. Anyone who has ever experienced this will confirm, it´s painful.
Stopping The Burn with Hylo-Dual Drops
The burning (pardon the pun) question is – how can I fix it?
This is going to sound obvious, but the way to treat the dry, scratchy feeling on the eyes caused by hay fever is to wet (lubricate) the eye. The team at OpticalRooms suggested I use a product called Hylo Dual Eye Drops. They applied one drop into each eye and I felt immediate comfort, my eyes felt moisturized and the dryness and irritation stopped instantly! Due to its special physical property HYLO forms a regular, stable, long lasting lubricating film on the eye surface. The film is not easily rinsed off and does not cause blurred vision. The recommended dosage is one drop per eye three times a day. However, if you are suffering from more severe complaints your eye specialist may recommend that you use it more frequently initially.
Contact Lenses and Eye Drops?
As I sometimes wear contact lenses I was delighted to hear that it could be used while wearing hard and soft contact lenses. Another bonus is that Hylo Dual is entirely preservative and phosphate free so it tends to suit most people without causing side effects. Yet another advantage is that it does not need to be refrigerated so you can carry it with you and have it to hand when you feel the symptoms recurring. I personally needed the drops because of typical symptoms of itching and burning derived from an allergic reaction due to environmental factors – hay fever. It can be used for the treatment of Dry Eye Syndrome also. It’s also supposed to be great for patients after eye operations.
Innovative Airless Application System
Something very clever about the dispenser bottle is that it features an airless application system which means that it is the world´s first preservative free, multi-dose container. The system is designed to deliver 300 sterile doses of solution – exactly one drop at a time. The size and speed of each drop are always the same regardless of the pressure applied to the base of the bottle. This innovative system is guaranteed to keep the liquids sterile during storage for up to 6 months after the first use. There´s even a space on the bottle where you can fill in the date you first use the product which takes a lot of the guessing and calculating when it expires out of the picture!
